Sources and checking dates
The Flame Journal aims to link to original records and distinguish cultural context, recognition, object descriptions and sales terms. Source publication dates and our checking dates are recorded separately. A checking date tells readers when we consulted a source; it does not establish that activities, classes or product terms described there were still current on that date. Readers can use our guide to checking official sources to verify project names, locations, reference numbers and source dates.
Writing for two audiences
For new content from 1 October 2026, we will develop English and Chinese articles independently from shared, verified facts and sources. Each edition should give its readers a complete account of the topic. Headings, examples and the order of explanation may differ; the facts, qualifications and uncertainty must remain consistent. A possibility must not become a guarantee. When correcting a fact or an important limitation, we check both editions. Earlier articles were primarily translated from Chinese, and their editorial history remains unchanged.
We can work from Chinese sources even where no official English version exists, including translating names and quoted passages. Our English wording does not claim official status. AI may assist with organisation, writing and translation; content is checked against its sources before publication.
Corrections and commercial relationships
When an error is identified, we check the relevant passage, update it and explain changes that affect readers’ understanding. The Flame Journal currently has no commercial relationships. We receive no commissions from external links, gifts or promotional payments. If that changes, the actual relationship should be disclosed alongside the relevant content. Missing product facts are not invented for marketing purposes.
Contact and corrections
If you find a problem with a fact, translation or source link, note the page URL, the specific passage and any supporting sources. You may write in Chinese or English; identity documents and other sensitive personal information are not needed.
A public contact email has not yet been confirmed, so the corrections channel is not open.
